It's not as bad as it sounds: Sunday we went and toured Les Egouts de Paris and Monday the ladies and I joined a friend for a day at the Most Magical Place on Earth...Disneyland Paris! It was a very exciting couple days!

Sewer men busy at work!
So, the sewers were very cool. A bit on the stinky side but it was exciting to get down and dirty and see how everything works. I like Victor Hugo's quote best, "Paris has beneath it another Paris, a Paris of sewers, which has its own streets, squares, lanes, and arteries, and circulation". So if you're thinking of coming out for a visit, maybe we'll take you somewhere special while you're here...
I am SO jealous! I have wanted to do the sewer tour forever!!! Thanks so much for the update about the French civilization class; it was really helpful to tell my students all about it.
